Pre-Vocational/Vocational Training in Rustavi Day Care Centre
The project was funded by UNICEF and implemented in collaboration with Art for Future and Elisabeth Gast Foundation in January-May, 2009.
The aim of the project was to expand Rustavi Day Care Centre services by introducing pre vocational/vocational component and familiarize Rustavi Day Care Centre (RDCC) beneficiary children and youth with a variety of professional career opportunities.
The project beneficiaries were: 50 RDCC children; 8 SGH children; 15 parents of RDCC children; 15 RDCC educators and 4 SGH parents/replacement parents.
Through wide range of activities proposed by the project children received opportunity to be better prepared for deciding on their future professional education/training; acquired motivation of inquiring and learning about the fields that they either have not heard about before or had no particular desire of trying; Children grasped basic principles and acquired experience in the fields of sewing, stone curving, wood cutting, applied design, drawing, drama and music.
The project provided special sessions for teachers, auxiliary teachers, a psychologist and SGH parents who acquired necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will contribute in their professional growth on the one hand and in higher quality curricula in pre vocational and vocational education at RDCC.
